Catholic Charities of Central and Northern Missouri is a non-profit social service agency, and an entity of the Diocese of Jefferson City, responding to the needs of people in 38 counties regardless of faith, culture, or situation.

Making an in-kind donation — a contribution of goods — is a great way to support our mission of serving the vulnerable in our community. To ensure we best meet the needs of our clients, we have specific guidelines about what we can accept. If you a question about a specific item, you are welcome to contact us by phone or email.

ITEMS WE CAN ACCEPT

FOOD ASSISTANCE
Interested in helping those who struggle with hunger and food insecurity? The most effective way is to make a gift to our food programs. Our food programs can accept:

  • Fresh foods/produce (only accepted at our Jefferson City location)
  • Canned goods and dried foods
  • Monetary donations

HYGIENE PRODUCTS

  • Deodorant
  • Feminine hygiene products
  • Lotion
  • Shampoo and conditioner
  • Soap
  • Toothbrush and toothpaste

OTHER ITEMS

  • Bus passes
  • Diapers sized 1-5
  • Infant formula
  • Pre-paid Visa Gift Cards
  • Gift cards to Walmart, Target, or local gas stations and grocery stores

VEHICLES
All vehicles donated to Catholic Charities must be driveable, have no known safety concerns, and have passed a Missouri inspection within the last 6 months. To learn more about donating a vehicle, or to set up an appointment to do so, please give us a call at 573-635-7719.

ITEMS WE CANNOT ACCEPT

Our neighbors come to us looking for basic essentials, and to honor those needs, we want to provide them with items that are in new or excellent condition. Please note, we do not accept items that are damaged or in poor condition.

SECONDHAND ITEMS

  • Used adult or children’s clothing
  • Used sheets, comforters and towels
  • Used beds, cribs, mattresses, box springs and mattress pads
  • Used toys

HAZARDOUS MATERIALS AND DANGEROUS ITEMS

  • Batteries

  • Propane cylinders

We appreciate that you may have high-quality items that we are unable to accept due to storage room, inability to transport your items, etc. If you are hoping to pass on items from our unaccepted list, you might consider contacting the following agencies that accept items for community members:
