OUR IMPACT

How we've provided compassionate care and created hope in the communities we serve in 2023.

In 2023 Catholic Charities of Central and Northern Missouri extended compassionate services to meet the needs of thousands across the Diocese of Jefferson City. Each year we look forward to sharing the impact of our work through statistics and firsthand accounts from both our staff and those we serve.

After all, it is with your prayerful support, your generous giving of time and talent, and your material help through financial donations that this charitable work thrives. In cities, towns, and rural communities across the thirty-eight counties we serve, your support is truly providing care and creating hope for those in need.

In each section of our 2023 Impact Report, you’ll find highlighted areas of our programming that have made a tangible difference for the people we encounter.

From struggling under predatory loans to finding stability and thriving with the help of our financial stability specialist, to visiting The Catholic Charities Food Pantry for food and leaving with encouragement and hope – these encounters leave a lasting impression on us as much as it does our neighbors.

While we are accompanying those in need of housing, reunification with their families, or rebuilding their lives in a new country, they are leading us closer to the heart of Christ. In their gratitude, their growth, and their resilience, we find our own
renewed sense of joy and hope.

We are very proud to have earned, again, the Candid Platinum Transparency rating. While 2023 financial reports are currently in progress, we invite you to review past years' reports by clicking here.

Working with Ilsi Palacious and her local parish, Maria got the help she needed, and more. Click on the feature story below to read on.

HEALTH & NUTRITION

If you're already living paycheck to paycheck, a hospital stay can mean more than just injury or illness – it could put your livelihood at risk. And when patients are discharged without nutritious food, or the ability to get to the store, how can they heal? The staff at SSM St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City had a creative idea to help food-insecure patients get the nutrition – and peace of mind – they need to find healing. Parish Social Ministry

In nearly every meeting or presentation from Catholic Charities to Parish Ambassadors a repeat need is shared: more formation, more participation, more support for ministry efforts. In response to that we launched the Parish Engagement and Charity Events (PEACE) in 2023. Together we dove deeper into foundational church teachings, workshopped ministry impact for Charity and Mercy grants, and networked with others to learn about social ministries and commissions in each deanery. What we found was inspiring. Click below to read more.
