Advocacy groups assist in eviction funding

JEFFERSON CITY — Organizations designed to prevent and manage homelessness in Central Missouri assisted individuals facing eviction sign up for federal funding.
Representatives from the Homeless Task Force of Jefferson City, Project Homeless Connect, and Catholic Charities of Central and Northern Missouri, worked to sign up people facing homelessness into the State Assistance for Housing Relief, or SAFHR, program.
“It’s a free program, but there’s a lot of hoops to jump through,” Amy Rogers, a media representative with Project Homeless Connect, said. “There’s a lot of paperwork, there’s a lot of documents that they have to get in place. And right now we’re attempting to help people get as much of that documentation together as possible.”
